What is therapy like at Cedar & Sky Wellness?
Therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to better understand your experiences, patterns, and goals while supporting greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and meaningful change. Sessions are tailored to your needs and may include talk therapy, reflection, and experiential or nature-informed approaches when appropriate.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy may be helpful if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, navigating life changes, or wanting to better understand yourself and your relationships. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin — we can explore what feels most important to you together.
Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
No referral is required to access services. You are welcome to reach out directly to book a session or book through the booking link on the website.
What concerns do you work with?
I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, trauma, emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, life transitions, identity exploration, and difficulties with emotional regulation and self-connection.

What is nature-based therapy?
Nature-based therapy integrates traditional psychotherapy with outdoor and experiential approaches that support emotional wellbeing, self-reflection, regulation, and connection through time spent in natural environments.
What does a nature-based therapy session look like?
Sessions may include walk-and-talk therapy, mindfulness or grounding practices outdoors, reflective conversation, or simply meeting in a natural setting rather than a traditional office. Each session is tailored to your comfort level, goals, and needs.
Do I need to be “outdoorsy” to participate?
Not at all. Nature-based therapy is designed to be collaborative and adaptable to each individual. No prior outdoor experience, fitness level, or comfort with nature is expected, and we move at a pace that feels supportive and manageable for you.
Are nature-based sessions confidential?
While care is taken to choose quiet and appropriate outdoor locations, nature-based sessions take place in public or semi-public spaces, meaning complete confidentiality cannot always be guaranteed. We will discuss privacy considerations and create a plan that feels comfortable for you before beginning outdoor sessions.
What happens if the weather is poor?
Weather, safety, and client comfort are always considered when planning outdoor sessions. If conditions are not appropriate, sessions may be moved indoors or transitioned to a virtual format when needed.
Is nature-based therapy right for me?
Nature-based therapy may not be the best fit for every individual or every stage of therapy. An initial consultation or in-office session helps determine whether outdoor or experiential approaches feel safe, appropriate, and supportive for your specific needs and goals.
Can I choose between indoor, outdoor, or virtual sessions?
Absolutely! Therapy is collaborative, and together we can determine which setting feels most supportive for you. Some individuals prefer traditional in-office or virtual sessions, while others may benefit from integrating outdoor or experiential approaches over time.

Where are in-office sessions located?
In-office sessions take place on the 7th floor of the One Executive building across from McMahon stadium. After exiting the elevator, please turn left and have a seat in the reception area, where I will meet you at your appointment time.
Is parking available?
Yes. Parking is available in any designated Regus parking stalls. They say 30-minutes, but you should have no issue parking for the duration of session. If those stalls are full, there is parking in the back alley and a walkway through the fence to come to the front of the building.
What if my appointment is after 5:00 PM or on weekends?
The building doors lock after 5:00 PM and on weekends. If you have an evening or weekend appointment, I will meet you at the main entrance at our session time.
How long are therapy sessions?
Most individual therapy sessions are approximately 50 minutes in length unless otherwise discussed. We can discuss booking 90 minute sessions, as needed.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. Virtual sessions are available for individuals located in Calgary and anywhere in Alberta.
What should I bring to my first session?
You are welcome to bring anything that may help you feel comfortable or supported during our session. Prior to your first appointment, you will receive any required intake and consent forms electronically.
What if I feel nervous about starting therapy?
Beginning therapy can feel unfamiliar or vulnerable, especially for a first session. We will move at a pace that feels supportive and collaborative, with space for questions, comfort, and openness throughout the process.
